What do I get out of being on a Performance/Demo team?

Joining the Kungfu Dragon USA Demo Team has many benefits. As a team member, you will receive more individualized training attention, allowing you to train at a higher level. You will also receive additional after-class instruction and specialized training for performances and competitions, which can lead to increased confidence and a sense of strength. Through evaluation and facing challenges, you will learn how to improve yourself and handle pressure, and conquering your fears

Being on the performance team offers more than just the thrill of competition. You will learn important life skills such as commitment, dedication, determination, perseverance, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The focus is not solely on winning, but on mastering skills and and coping with situations, regardless of outcome.

Joining the Kungfu Dragon USA Demo Team provides a unique opportunity to push yourself out of your comfort zone and develop physical, mental, and emotional skills in new ways. It offers a chance to be part of a team and experience the camaraderie of working together for the common goal. By joining the team, you will gain valuable skills and experiences that will serve you well throughout your life.

When considering a child for Kung Fu, the following factors are important:

  1. Physical ability: Can the child perform strength exercises pull-ups, leg lifts, sprinting, push-ups, sit-ups, and hollow body holds?
  2. flexibility: Does the child have the necessary flexibility to meet the demands, or can it be developed through training over time?
  3. Basic skills: Has the child mastered the basics of Kung Fu and knows the terminology?
  4. Motivation: Does the child want to learn and succeed?
  5. Coachability: Can the child listen and follow instructions, focus, and learn new skills? Are they willing to correct old skills before learning new ones?
  6. Mental toughness: Can the child handle criticism and perform under pressure? Will they persist through tough challenges?
  7. Sportsmanship: Will the child fit in with the team and show respect towards others, both in victory and defeat?
